Position

This photo has nothing to do with the photo itself, if that makes any sense.
I keep that old beat up board in my van and have played in parks, back porches, many taverns ( more then I care to admit ) , diners too and this shot was taken in a tobacco shop.

Yes, I'm a chessaholic !

Anyway there is a story behind this crappy photo, and it's all about the position. I wasn't even playing this game. My young friend Hillery who's been a consistent challenge for about the past two years won the board.

Before she crushed me we had drawn the attention of most of the people there and one of the observers called next game. I eyed him up, figuring the table was going to be mine. Unfortunately I was sadly mistaken about my perceived win. ( that loss put us both at 2 out of 4 games btw ).

So I gave me seat to the new challenger , I don't think the poor guy knew what he was in for !
I couldn't help but find humor in his comments as he criticized a few moves, but when he got into this predicament the comments changed to " Oh well I haven't played in awhile. ".

By the way she was white and he played black. White to move in the above photo.

The moral to this long winded post ?
If you see a young lady with delicate features , crazy red hair and dressed in punk garb sitting in front of a chess board, be prepared to get your ass handed to you !

ps. I much better shot would have been the expression on the fellows face at this point .
