I was roused from my deep slumber by either a phone call or text message to my cell , I can't recall which. But as I had asked Hill to check in from Chicago to let me know she made it safe and sound she obliged.
She seemed pleased with the accommodations her modeling agency provided and was going on about how this time she had a private room with smoking. And that she couldn't wait to get a shower and sleep for a while, I was just happy to hear she made it there ok and couldn't wait to get back to sleep myself.
So I replied " Yes, yes that's wonderful..Take a picture , I'm going back to sleep."
Listen, I'm not gonna lie.. I'm pretty damned happy she did ! Ya gotta admit, the kid has a knack for self portraits too. I envy that camera ...
Yeah she looks good, but she'll smell like an ashtray.

Very creative & artistic B/W! The cig, towel wrapped around her, with everyday items found in a bathroom makes the image come together. I love the look on her face, not sure what she's thinking, but the mystery adds to the image as well. Wonderfully done!

I like her hair best, in this and her other mirror self-portrait. Other notes: her nonchalance and "willingness to be seen" make both shots very provocative, a feeling reinforced by the cigarette. Also, the selective masking of private parts in this shot seems very natural and unforced -- a choice rather than self-censorship. A great, no-nonsense portrait -- nice shot!

@Ken McCoy: You should see her hair in color ! The best description I can come up with is licked by flames . Hillary prefers to shoot in monochrome so I worked on the contrast to emphasize the highlights though I feel it doesn't do justice.
By the way she's a hair model , later in the series you'll see some drastic changes . Thanks for the comment !

@Lezek: I had a feeling you'd like this one, back when I posted that I was trying to encourge her to shoot more. I pointed out your comment saying " See that Hillary, it came out so good that some guy from Spain fell in love with you . ".
Glad you liked the series, check back. Mid April we have a cross country road trip consisting of Hillary, Jane and myself I'm sure the three of us will be able to capture a few good shots along the way.
Lucky Camera. Sometimes I wish I was a camera. Great photo.
